The next day, shortly after the sun had risen, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (plus two) set out to the barn. Mina had jury rigged two chemical sprayers from odds and ends in the inn, and brewed a batch of herbicidal chemical mix, which would hopefully deal with these things before they had a chance to eat anyone else. It was after the sun had set and dusk had fallen that League itself had gathered back at the inn.

Mina and Quatermain's search proved fruitless, and it seemed Rodney's had as well. In fact, when Angua and Algren were arriving back themselves, his words rang out from the gathered group.

It was not long of a walk before Mina and her companions encountered a path, and that path led to a small in that was not far off a proper country road. It was at this inn that they encountered a certain grizzled old man and a seemingly walking coat and hat.

It was, of course, Mina's league compatriots Allan Quatermain and Rodney Skinner.

( And together, they formed the Justice League of Victorian Superpersons. Or something. )

With an unceremonious regurgitation, the portal spewed out our intrepid band of travelers (and the chair) onto a soft patch of grass in Welsh farmland.

Mina herself landed with the chair on top of her.

"I really do think they do this on purpose," she comment, momentarily not making the effort to get up.

Mina knew she was tempting fate, getting her portal in the Mauvaise Chance lobby, but that seemed the most apt place to do it. She had invited Nathan over to bid her adieu, as she did always like to see him before she embarked on anything dangerous.

For now, she sat in the lobby, poking idly at the arm of the chair.
