I have been teaching at MCC for about a year and a half now and I think my time there is coming to an end. Over the last semester I have been teaching at Three rivers and it looks like they want to keep me there. So MCC has been really trying to pull me into a full time position. Over the summer I was offered a job for 80k per year and turned them down. I just did not want to teach the classes they wanted me to teach and to be honest the hourly rate was lower then my pay at TRCC. I finally started at three rivers, I hope I always have a class to teach there. It makes me feel like my time in school really meant something. It has brought me back around and now I get help people the same way I was helped through school. Not to mention the pay kicks ass, I get 92 bucks an hour to talk about art all day. Its nearing Christmas again and I feel anxious as usual. This year I have decided to get into the spirit of it for Max and he is sooo excited. I have a lot to be thankful for this year, I have a good job,nice house, great son and food on the table. I have been sick for more then a week. Max brought home some kind of viral plague from daycare and I have had a sore throat my ears wont pop and I had viral pink eye. This of course led to me being out of work for a week and loosing a good chunk of change. Work at MCC continues to be hectic, I spent all last semester cleaning and organizing the shop plus reworking the curriculum. This semester I have been working with another professor to try to get things running smoothly for next year but we butt heads a lot. Well it seems the brass at MCC made my choice to work more hours or not easy. The head of continuing education bounced my contract because I had enough hours to qualify as a full time employee.
