Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb is one of the the great songs of the progressive rock era, but Mostly Autumn take it to a different level altogether. Also, Heather Findlay (now, sadly, their ex-lead singer) has the sexiest bottom in rock!

It also sums up my current state of mind - Izzy and one or two others will understand why.

What I didn't say in my blog about Kate Bush is that this is her finest achievement, and without using hyperbole is arguably one of the best songs ever written.

The only certainty is decay and death.

Bleh.

Thank goodness FIFA had the good sense to insert some dead days between matches in the latter stages of the World Cup. We all need the rest. Josie made her first public appearance yesterday as guest of honour at a 350 strong fund-raising bike ride being held to raise money to pay for her rehabilitation.

Josie's family released this video today. It is heartening but also a little sad (it made me cry). Her progress to date has been little short of miraculous, but as the video shows, she still has such a long way to go.

I've been listening a lot to Kate Bush recently. According to my Dad, you had to have been a teenage boy in 1978 to really appreciate her. I'm not sure that's true, but it probably explains the almost religious attitude men of certain age have the her - a devotion that isn't really justified by her output.
