Last night we celebratedthorny 's  birthday.  It was a little belated but we all had schedule conflicts.  He doesn't look older just younger.  We discovered it is very hard to get a gift certificate for gas in Huntsville.  The gas stations are missing a great opportunity to make money.  Denny went to lunch with friends from his old work place and Georgia ( Read more... )

Okay, we talked with bardiva today and she asked me if we had been reading  LJ.  The answer was no.   We think about it but we never get around to it.   The reason we have the LJ is so that when we are residents of a  nursing home, we can look back and think we did have some sort of life. That is if we remember how to go on line.   So briefly. We went out to dinner with thorny1 who has recently "retired".  Well he just quit his dead-end job.  He now has lots of free time to sell his house and get on the road and into cruisn'.  That big smile says:  I'm a free man again - no more "on call".  We look forward to his new found freedom also, so we can visit him either on land or sea.

In July we went to visit bardiva in Kentucky.  She was house sitting so we stayed at her apartment with her two kitties.  The first night she made us a gourmet dinner on the grill.  That girl can cook!!  We watched her cook while eating  wonderful hors d'oeuvres.  On Friday, when Steph was at work, we rode our bikes and went geocaching in a nearby park.  ( Read more... )

In July we went to Baby Michael's Christening in Canada.  jenont  and robont were great hosts and really know how to put on a great party with a white tent, great food and little kids running around.   Once again we got to meet all the family.  I just luv Rob's grandmother, Julia.  I could have taken her home with me.  Such an interesting ife she has led.  NO ( Read more... )

So the whole summer we haven't posted.  I don't even know why - we just haven't so now we are doing catch up time.
The beginning of June we went to Alaska with friends.  This was our second cruise to Alaska and probably so far our favorite cruising place. Here we are hiking on the flume in Juneau.  Along the way we got a great geocache .  Throughout ( Read more... )
