The neighborhood boys showed up at my door yesterday morning with an injured dove. They witnessed a hawk snagging it, but somehow the dove got away. The boys were able to get it before the hawk had another chance. It was bleeding and injured pretty bad from the strong talons. My son called me from the bus, the driver announced there was a fire at his school. They were heading there anyway to see what was going on. He called me again and said they unloaded the kids on the track and they were to wait there until they found out what was happening. Fire trucks were on the scene. I seem to not be able to talk about things that bother me the most anymore. I just sit here in silence. That isn't like me at all. But then again, maybe it is.

I have been up to my son's school quite a bit in the past couple of weeks. His science teacher has a lot animals in her classroom. I noticed a pair of cockatiels that were new to the collection.
