I found his visit very interesting, motivating and very useful in what we are doing at the moment. The differences between Vic and Digger and how they are so "chalk and cheese". I think you're right, it would be really scary if in the end we all turned out to be like everybody else. However, as you mentioned in your entry, there are fortunately enough people in our world who can express themselves very well and stand out off the crowd.

I too found David Malouf's visit interesting and helpful, especially the too poems about the chimney sweeps, These seemed to encaptulate one of the main ideas in the book.
But to tell you the truth my entry is not about David Malouf but rather about your display picture. Hehehe! Audrey Hepburn is beautiful and Holly Golightly fitted her perfectly. Very Glamourous and very you :D. I went as her to a fancy dress party not long ago. hehehe! keep an eye on my livejournal for photos.

It struck me right in the heart what you were saying about David Malouf and The Great World. I also found it to be an inspiring novel and felt a sense of addiction to read on, page after page.
When you said, "I feel that you'll only get out of life what you put into it, and life's to short and precious to waste in my eyes." I said to myself, "this is so true!", I believe this is the catalyst which gave me the urge to want to discover more and understand the deeper meanings created from the lives of Vic and Digger.
It is trully a "Great World".
Peace out.
Cheers from Sam.
