Just wanted to thank y'all for your well-wishes! My cold's gone and my breathing's pretty much almost back to normal. (It boggles my mind that some people have asthma that out of control all the time. Jeez.) I even was at the pulmo today and did well on the pulmonary function tests (Can you say ספירומטריה? Come on Hebrew, get more of your own ( Read more... )

it's nuts how many words Hebrew just takes from English... and it's really frustrating when you're trying to figure out what a word is, and then suddenly realise it's a word in English and you're breaking your teeth trying to correctly pronounce the transliteration!

Spirometry is one of the pulmonary function tests they do. I dunno why Hebrew adds ה's to everything. Caloria, geometria, psychologia...

spirometry isnt english either. its from latin, breathe-measure. and other languages add the "a" on to the end, like russian. so really we should be complaining about how latin and greek are borrowed by every language. maybe we should just make IT the international language! (they tried for medicine. it didnt work. hm...)

Yeah, right? I don't like nametags either. But when you have one because you are at the Knesset and people SHOULD know your name, it's that much cooler. Not that I'll be doing anything super interesting. I'll be signing people in and working the video camera. I'm still coughing up phlegm, tho lots less, so I'll have to work hard to not record myself doing that. Awkward.

Yeah that was the only Nine Days song I knew til recently. The rest of them are good too! =)
