I love to re-read books. I love to pick up one that I haven't read in a year or so and see how it strikes me differently and how I've changed since I read it last. Books that I read as a child and loved really are old friends. I can Black Beauty or Treasure Island in an afternoon. If I just need or want a break, I'll grab one of those, head out to a park somewhere and read. Nothing could be better. Or any of the Chronicles of Narnia! You know that point when you need to hear from God but are too upset/angry/tired/whatever to process anything "adult"? It doesn't matter how many times I've read those books; I still find something new each time. Anyways, that's my take. I'm sure you'll get a response from Melissa too. I know she loves to re-read books. Love you girl!
I've probably read little women every year since I was ten. Pride and prejudice 5 or 6 times. And my latest obsession of course, twilight, is already looking worn around the binding. They're the weird ones!
Well, I've read J.R.R. Tolkien's books more times than I can count, and I've been thinking I'm due for another re-reading of Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion (re-read the Hobbit just a few months ago) :)
I think we should be book friends...desirerofhesedApril 29 2009, 17:40:49 UTC
I've re-read all of these too. I love them. My daddy read the trilogy and the Hobbit to my brothers and me when we were kids. There's so much stuff in LOTR and the Silmarillion that you have to re-read them over and over just to absorb it all.
