Well, it's cold, snowy and we are kind of isolated so mostly I am working (meeting with the Russian equipment vendors) and trying to keep from getting too far behind on my office work as well. Ah, the glamorous life of a project manager...

To Denver this time, meeting with Rusian equipment vendors and such. This time, I shall post from with in the US.

Going to be crazy for a bit, off on vaction to Mexico the end of next week, then back to Kazakhstan for two weeks. Talk about climate shock...

As of today, 13 years and 6 days. It's an odd emotional mix that I can't really describe.

Not much to report today, all work, but I did get a look at a type of local eagle, they are scavengers with white wing tips and white legs. Imporssive looking birds. That I seem to be developing some sort of cold. Yuck!

We finished up our survey of the Port of Balboa today and to celebrate, we took the locals from the Port who had helped us out to lunch. It was at a special restaurant, one in the canal zone overlooking one of the locks. While we were there, we got to watch a Singapore freighter move East through the lock. I reached Panama City and it is warm and moist here. The flight out of Sacramento was the bumpiest one I have ever experienced and a real white knuckle ride for a while. This was the first time I have ever seen the Stewards and Stewardeses sent to their seats mid flight. The drink cart got stopped right beside me and I (and three other passangers) ( Read more... )
