Last weekend
Quite a busy one, even though I didn't make it into London. On Friday night Skippy came to visit and we ate pumpkins filled with cheese. Saturday was the Hampshire Octoberfest, which would have been great if the beer didn't keep running out! What I have been up to
About time I updated again. Despite the lack of nightlife that Basingstoke offers, I must admit there is a really cool theatre called Central Studios in the town. Saw an atmospheric and entertaining physical theatre adaptation of Dracula there a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend
On Saturday night, I went to Vagabonds for the first time in a while. I learned that driving in central London is difficult without any road signs but managed to get parked easily around the Borough Market area when we arrived at about 11. M'era Luna Part 2
Memory is getting a little hazy since I have left a while to update but here it goes anyway!
I was up on Sunday in time for the first band Leichtmatrose who I had never heard of but were quite like Wolfsheim and a pleasant enough start to the day. Scream Silence were a pretty good guitar based gothic rock band that followed. Glad I got to see them ( Read more... ) -
M'era Luna Part 1
Finally I can get around to posting about my trip to Germany!
It started at around midnight on the Thursday/Friday border at Potters Bar where Emily and I boarded the Goth coach. thelxiope generously greeted me with a cup of Amaretto which went down well and we made it to Dover without any problems. Back
Just a quick post to say I have returned from M'era Luna. Once again, the goth coach there and back was a lot of fun and thanks to ade50021 for organising it and to Gordon our really nice driver. Band wise the line up was not as good as last years for me, but I really enjoyed The Prodigy much more than I was expecting! Probably the band of the festival for ( Read more... ) -
What I did away from Wacken this year
Returned from Cumbria this evening and had a great time.
On Monday night, Emily and I stayed in New Hall Hotel in Birmingham. The place is about 800 years old and we had a really nice room with a 4 poster bed, 3 piece suite and a view looking over some stone dragons. It was the nicest place I've ever stayed in. Thursday night is update night
Last weekend was fun. On Friday night, I went to Zeitgeist for good German food and beer. There were quite a few people there including maid_ov_metal who was visiting London for the weekend, and it was nice to catch up. Saturday evening was spent at Reptile. Mega Update time Part 2: Beyond the veil (Sunday)/York
Sunday started with a trip to the Brewery Tap near the station which had a good selection of Leeds brewery beer and also really good food. We then made our way to the Cockpit for day 2 of Beyond the Veil. I got there in time for the opening band Legion who I wanted to see as Maisey is their singer.
