Took Zachariah swimming for the first time today - well at least I tried to. Zachariah had his 8 month developmental check today (only got told yesterday that this would be happening - cue cleaning of house and lots of panicking by me!) and am very pleased to report that he passed with flying colours. His height and weight are in the 75th percentile and she was amazed that he can take a few steps on his own and re-balance ( Read more... )

Crawling - they never tell you quite how exhausting it is when they start to crawl properly! He can now speed up and down the flat in the blink of an eye (can beat me every time) and yesterday mastered the art of climbing up furniture. Zach can now impressively sit himself back up from lying down (albeit via the crawl position)and take a couple of steps on his own if you place something he really wants in front of him. His crawling is still commando style but it takes him where he wants to go which seems to be enough for him as all he wants to do is walk and bounce anyway ( Read more... )

Have left Zachariah in basingstoke with Steve and Maralyn tonight and he will be with my parents tomorrow night who are bringing him down to Plymouth on Saturday. i pretty much cried all the way home but will be nice in a way not to have to do anything for two days. his second tooth is now coming through. Did not know they came through together in two days. He was fantastic with the first but has had a bastard time tonight. I hate seeing him cry (he actually had tears pouring down his face for 45 minutes this evening). Plus it has flared up his eczema poor baby so he is scatchy too.
