Actually, our generation was not the first to gauge their ears. It was traditional in ancient cultures, especially in those before the Roman and Greek Empires.

As for the media thing, you have to understand... it's not because the people dislike Obama. It's because newspapers are businesses, usually larger. Therefore, republicans run them because they believe the government should protect those big businesses. Why do you think there are so few truly local newspapers? Even the "Buffalo News" isn't really local. They can't survive. It's not PEOPLE that hate Obama. It's republicans. So you aren't going to hear a lot of good things about him.

You are a very cynical person. I agree, a lot of people don't think, they want to be lead by an image, or person, or idea. Still, the fact that this upsets you, doesn't that mean there is hope? You're not the only one. And people are out there DOING things about it, not just feeling lost and hopeless and complaining on their blogs...

It's not just republicans that hate obama its democrats too. They now feel mislead that he has been in office for two years and things aren't fixed yet. He gave everyone who voted for him an illusion of grandeur that he was some super hero that the media made him out to be. Also the only real conservative based media outlet is fox news which kills in ratings month after month, but thats the only one we have that is on a large scale. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC you name it, run by liberals. Nothing wrong with that though survival of the fittest. To say everyone who owns a large buisness is a republican is silly to say. Look at Heinz Ketchup, who owns that? Senator John Kerry and his Wife. Dick Wolf producer and creator of the Law and Order franchise and majority stock holder of NBC? Outspoken liberal. Thats a common misconception and a very poor stereotype. Also take a look at the top contributors to the Obama campaign (Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, Time Warner) then maybe you might want to rethink your statement.
