Daragh Joseph O'Rourke was born at home on the 4th of Feb at 3:28am. He's a fit and mostly happy if slightly tiny baba at 6 1/2 lbs and 49cm.

(We now have 3 kids under 4yrs ......Aaaaaaarrrrrgh what were we thinking?)

Daragh is fitting in well and both his older siblings love him to bits, his Mommy is well if still a little sore and tired.

Ok, I've finished reading Dust of Dreams by Steven Erikson and I think I may need to read it again in a month or so. There was a fairly large "wtf?" element a various points. It's better than Reaper's Gale but the cast is way too large and the Quitter's sections with the child Held etc kept pulling me out of the book ( Read more... )

Just so everyone knows. Clare and I are expecting baby #3 on 2nd Feb next year.

Being a parent has been a complete change, it’s definitely a rewarding one but it can be more than a little frustrating ( Lots of details about my kids - you were warned. )

Dust of Dreams (edit - woops) from Steven Erikson pushed back to 27th August - I was looking forward to picking this up today, nuts.

Just skimmed the 50 page IMF report on Ireland and will read it again later but it's pretty damning with regard to our public sector expendature whihc it says needs to be slashed.

I had a much larger post but it got garbled by a cut and paste screw up so I'll re-write it later when I have time.

I think I might get this book - the fact that it was writen in 1926 shows we really don't learn from our past.
