I'm really glad I re-read Franny and Zooey. Stress levels are really high right now. One month out from Step 1. I know I can pass. But I don't know how well I can do. That's scary.

The problem was, we believed our sincerity alone would absolve us. As if depth of feeling could substitute for taking responsibility for your actions.

The problem of reconciling the fact of human suffering under the power of a loving God has always been very real to me. It has long since been a primary reason to vote "no" on God. But right now I'm having a terrible time with three deeply felt thoughts:
