Tuesday we went to the doctor for a follow-up after the miscarriage.

We found out why it happened.

I apparently have a "protein S deficiency," causing me to have a blood-clotting disorder where my blood clots too easily.  Basically, the blood was clotting before it got to the baby...so it wasn't carrying the nutrients to the baby that were necessary ( Read more... )

totally "partner of the quarter" for my starbucks store!  Yeah, so I get an apron with my name on it.  dig.

We had our ultrasound on Friday!  Thanks for your prayers!  He/she/it is still alive and kickin!  It was waving at us, movin' all about and such, and we heard the heartbeat for the first time ever!!!  The heart rate was 160-something, which they said was good.  Oh, and they also said the baby measures at 12 weeks, which is one week older than they ( Read more... )

We have another ultrasound in 10 hours...hoping to see that the baby is still alive and moving and such!  Please continue praying for our baby and pregnancy.

We went to the doctor today, had an ultrasound, and saw the baby move!!!!  It was so exciting!!!

Please be praying, though.  There's a slight perforation in the placenta, I guess it is.  That's causing some bleeding.  It's weird, and they don't know what caused it.  So I have to "take it easy" for a while.  We'll have another ultrasound in a couple ( Read more... )

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!!  I went to the doctor today, and I'm (theoretically) 5 weeks and 2 days along!  Please be praying for our baby, though, because we are apparently at risk of miscarrying.  Anyway, we're very excited.  The baby's alive...I saw the baby-sack!

We'll go back in 2 weeks to see the baby for real!

I'm currently babysitting a one year old and a two year old.  We made animal noises for a good deal of the night.  And apparently toddlers don't like pasta primavera, so don't try.
