Izzy was fascinated with the plastic cylinder that covers the isight camera the other day. He wouldn't let go of it, even as he crawled across the room. It was extra funny to see him try to stuff it down his throat. He liked the sound of his voice echoing in it too. The next day I gave him a little chip clip which he loved. Izzy is nine months today. He went to the Dr. yesterday for his wellness visit. He was very good even with getting the one shot and being tired. He is 20.5 lbs and 28 in. (70-75%ile), which the Dr. said was good growth. We are to work toward 3 servings of breast milk and 3 servings of solids (cereal, fruits, and veggies) a day. At one year we ( Read more... )

Well, I just submitted my dissertation to the Dean's office. There is no turning back now. My final defense is scheduled for March 20th. For those of you unfamiliar with the process, this means that the document is completed and my committee agrees that it is ready for me to orally defend. Izzy got his first haircut today. I had been contemplating cutting it for awhile and today I got tired of seeing it in his eyes and pasted to his cheek. He was pretty good, I gave him his brush to chew on while I used the comb. Gonzo took some pictures that we will post soon. I woke up this am happy that the icky white patches had disappeared from the back of my throat. Then was brought back to sick life with stomach pains that could compete with the labor pains I experienced last June. I went to another dr. and was told that I'm having bad side effects from the antibiotic for strep (and the other antibiotics). To ( Read more... )

I'm extremely tired of being sick. I'm on my third round of antibiotics. It appears that I started with a sinus infection. When I started to feel sick again last week, my dr. and I thought that the first antibiotic didn't work. Izzy pulled himself up to standing in his crib tonight. Woo Wooo!!!!!
He is sooooo close to crawling too.

It has been a crazy week. The whole household has been sick and both Gonzo and I had some big deadlines. Starting with the most important, Izzy. He had an ear infection to which he started antibiotics last Saturday. His fever went away and he went back to daycare Monday - Wednesday.
