And yet amusingly...that was in essence, a blog post of sorts. May not be set up on an actual blog, but still fits the profile.
And frankly, Robin Hobb lost me after she went back to the same well with the Tawny Man trilogy and ultimately that set of books didn't hold as much interest as the original Farseer Trilogy did.
Maybe Soldier's Sun works better (as she is a skilled writer) as she opted for an all new story with a new world and thus new characters.
And no...that isn't why you don't post often. Because you wait till the last minute to write ANYTHING. :-P
Soldier's Son has been all over the place. It's an interesting world and interesting characters, but it seems like she's trying to put too much into it, with teasers of lore and plot that haven't been filled out yet. I enjoyed the Mad Ships much more.
I agree, that was a blog post. LOL. Are *real* writers using LJ to hone their writing skills? I thought that there were other sites for that. LJ is for socializing and putting down thoughts of the day, not real writing, IMO.
Anyway, J, it would be nice to see some more posts by you. We don't need essays every day, no lengthy commitment to the keyboard. Just a "hey, I'm breathing" now and then is nice. :)
