I'm afraid I have to veto Catrin. Because it would be shortened to "Cat" as a nickname and that's just plain bad

Oh my, she is too cute to be allowed. Those black patches on her eyes!

I like Sophie too, partly because of Howl's Moving Castle and partly because of Sophie Brahe the astronomer and partly because it's just a cool name.

I hope everything goes well! You already have another dog, right?

We do indeed. Xander is a 17 month old Newfoundland, ~105lbs and still putting on weight. He'll be full grown sometime around July.

I wanted to get him a playmate / little sibling since we got him, but I wanted to wait until he was a year and a half or two years old. The way circumstances fell ... well, it's a little early but she's a sweetheart.

We went up to NH to meet her before she went to her foster family in ME. All the other puppies and dogs up there ran away from my poor Xander-monster, mostly just because he's still an overgrown puppy himself and his size is intimidating. Not her though, she saw him, tackled him and was already happy to play with him.
