My right shoulder is better than the surgeon expected.

Dear Oatmeal got to go to the MRI with me last Sunday evening because I wasn't sure if I'd be claustrophobic during a long assessment. I wasn't, but also didn't open my eyes for the half hour or so that the magnetic resonating went on. It rather sounds like a jackhammer close to your ear and takes measurements of all possible angles of the ( Read more... )

I was just thinking of you! I'm so glad you got through the MRI. I'm very clastrophobic, so I sympathize. Sounds like you've got a plan going forward. Please let us know the day of your surgery. I want to keep you in my thoughts that day.

Have a Merry Christmas! I'm glad your going to have helpful visitors! *hugs*

Thank you, dear Mary. I am sure that my not answering you is due to Vicoden mushy brain. I feel much better on a lower dose.

As you can read from anyone else's comment. I will be operated on Friday, February 1. The doctor wants dear Oatmeal to be able to help me. He was a handful when he couldn't do much of anything for about a week.

Yes, all those tests inside large metal tubes are not fun.

Glad you are 'better than expected', so hopefully your recuperation afterwards will be reasonably quick. LOL at 'emergency casseroles'- a sensible precaution, along with lots of yummy soups. I don't care how nutritious the labels on packaged foods say they are, they are never as nice as good ol' homemade stuff!! Take care and hope you and Oatmeal have a great Christmas - do try to take things a little easy :)

I'm sending a group answer since I can't type for very long. Thank you for your good wishes and/ or prayers. Dear Oatmeal needs to be as well as possible before I am operated on. We know that his total replacement is taking about four months so that's the time we are aiming for.

We've scheduled the surgery for Friday, February 1, as early as possible in the day. First Daughter and my former teaching partner are both available all weekend and First son-in-law can help as time permits. I will read and watch TV a lot and not write much.

I'm glad to hear you're in better shape than expected. Good for you deciding not to put out all the Santas. Your health and recovery (for both of you!) is far more important! We certainly don't want Dear Oatmeal taking a tumble again. Have a wonderful Christmas enjoying that precious Owen.

Even though you are still in pain and discomfort with your shoulder, it is good news. I hope the operation goes as smoothly as the MRI seems to have gone.
