It was galling that even my stalker had abandoned me. No romance for me. Especially not when I'd come to realise there's only one person from whom I'd welcome it.

Then the doorbell rang.

And he stood there holding a dark red rose, so dark as to be almost black.

“Why aren't you wearing your presents?” he asked, the cheeky bastard. Does he know he has a beautiful smile?

So I gave him back a little.

“Where's this year's, then?”

“This year, I'm going to take them all away from you. One. By. One.”

And he did....
