Hello and thanks to the people who've been so kind as to ask how I've been while I dropped off the map for a week and a half. (Not from LJ, but mostly skype buddies, since my updating schedule on my LJ is less than constant.)

That's some of the worst news you can get. I'm so sorry you've had to deal with the loss of a family member in such a way. It's never an easy thing, ever.
I can say that if you ever want to talk, or need a willing shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you. I know EXACTLY what you're going through as I've gone through the same thing three times now.
I can tell you that while the pain never really goes away, it does get easier to handle as time goes on. And no, the questions will never really go away. The constant 'Is there anything I could have done?'
Everyone in your family is going to be asking themselves that very same question, and it's okay to ask yourself that, but you can't dwell on the 'what if's in this scenario because they'll be what gets you.
Please take care of yourself and your family. I'm so fucking sorry you've had to go through this tragedy, but please, PLEASE know that you aren't alone in this.
And if you need ANYONE to talk to. I'm always here.
*hugs*

And second, I couldn't agree with you more. Suicide is selfish and usually the person committing it is so far gone into their own mind that they can't even think that other people exist, let alone how much pain they will cause their loved ones.
I hope that anyone with suicidal thoughts would sit down and think about how their actions will hurt others and how much pain and sorrow they will cause their family, and once that sinks in, they would change their horrible plan.
