[A man sits at a bar. He'd look like the typical sorrow-drowning patron if he weren't too young and still too smartly dressed for it. The device has been switched on deliberately; the screen catching him withdrawing his hand with a small twitch of satisfaction as it starts to record.]This would all be fascinating if it weren't so inconvenient. Its been tried.

It doesn't work.

Also ridiculously irresponsible use of powers.

More accurately, it didn't work that time. Though for someone to be aware of the possibility and not continually throw themselves at that pane of glass like an agitated fly shows a marked degree of restraint which can only be considered admirable.

As well as unfortunately well judged. But bravo, nontheless.

I'll let him know the next time I see him trying.

And it's really a lot harder to rip holes in reality than it looks. Reality's kind of like stretch polyester. It resists tearing.

Another thing most likely for the better. I'm sorry you didn't get home, if only because it means neither of us can.

You're calm for a new arrival.

[ No frantic yelling, no fountain splashing, no explosions...well it has to happen some time. ]

I thought it would be a good idea to get my bearings before saying hello. Panic is certainly an attention grabber, but it wastes such a lot of time in people getting you to calm down.

Practical.

As for escaping one way or another, it isn't about risk. It's just not an option.

Impenetrable barriers that only develop flaws when it's inconvenient. It does sound endlessly frustrating.

This place seems to be its own separate reality, so I don't know how successful that will be.

Reality is something of a self-defined concept. If this is real, it's reality, one which we have to accept is encompassed within our own.

Either way, mucking around with it isn't a terribly smart idea, of course.

Let me chose a better world. I don't mean reality in the sense of what is, I mean reality in the sense of nobody here is from the same "world" for the better lack of terms.

[If he pauses for a minute it's because he's not sure what can be so appealing about boxes.]

There doesn't seem to be much alternative, does there?

Understandably. Though with welcoming people such as yourself around that can't last for long.

[Have a smile, Euphie.]

Only a day.

In as far as I know, it's an impossible feat. I did a bit of work with portals at home and have found it unlikely here, even if I did have the right components.

That would be the consensus so far. You used your portals, at home?

I did. Intradimensional within a particular town that had a psychic barrier.
