I mean while there are bad things happening I guess Antonio's cheery disposition seemed to lighten up the mood of this chapter. That doesn't mean that I don't feel bad for Alfred. Even if Sir had bad aim that doesn't meant everything is okay.
Also, I see what you're doing there Francis. You catch bees better with honey than with vinegar! Helping out the brothers and being nice to them after a traumatic incident is the best way to generate Stockholm syndrome. I mean Alfred was definatly more complient after the incident than he was in the previous chapter.
Wait, they have glasses? I'm going to need to reread the story because from my (poor) memory I kind of concluded they didn't have any. I mean they've always been poor so it would have been hard to replace them if they broke. If they did have glasses and I just forgot I blame that (awesome) fanart of this story I saw the other day.

Thank you for commenting :) I can only imagine the pain that Alfred would have to go through if there was a lot of pushing and not a lot of giving D:
Francis is being sneaky, but I think there is a small part of him that genuinely feels bad. You know. A tiny part.
Haha, I did not even think about that until you pointed it out - but you're right, it does make more sense for them not to have glasses. I've never mentioned one way or the other if they have or not in this story. On one hand I feel as if I should try to keep as close to their characters' physical descriptions as possible, but them not having glasses would be more practical. I fixed it, so thank you :)

A few days ago I was reading an article about Amsterdam and I was grinning all the time. Rough translation:
Even famous Casanova himself expressed surprise over the matter-of-course attitude of the local women on the streets during his visit to Amsterdam. Amsterdam has always been an open-minded city. Its open-mindedness showed itself, among other things, in existence of many buoyant dance houses with Jewish violinists. There were Houses of Laughter - brothels for homosexuals run under the pretence of work agencies for servants. In the artists´ quarter Jordaan, once a poor district with merry pubs for soldiers, in the labyrinth of narrow streets and small canals, we nowadays find striving coffee lounges, galleries, shops with useless goods and cabarets.
