And for the first time I don't mean that subject line sarcastically.  I just got back from a small party at my advisor's house since two of his students just defended their theses this week.  There was a 1:1 ratio of students to professors... not including my advisor's wife.  And it was great.  Four students, four professors, good food, and beer ( Read more... )

So today was the last day I was going to have enough free time until the weekend to head out to the two exotic bird stores I know about in the area that have finches, so I went.  Oddment seemed depressed and she didn't have anyone around and I've been planning on visiting them for weeks, ever since Tweak started going downhill.

Well, Alonzo is going to be around for a little while longer.  We have no idea how long, but the bloodwork says that while his liver and kidneys have not failed yet, they are not in great shape.  There is one other medication we can try in addition to the liquid stuff we were giving him before, but basically his liver isn't processing the bilirubin ( Read more... )
