Many Happy Returns of the Day!

Yesterday we took our dog back for a visit with her friends at the Brownstown Animal Shelter, who rescued her from the roof of an abandoned house (since demolished, because it was dangerous), and who nursed her back to health from an emaciated, scared state.

I just finished a book called Where Are You Now? by Mary Higgins Clark. It is a tale of missing persons, mystery and suspense, which started all right, but less than halfway through it began to try my patience. During the day it's warm enough that our black roof absorbs enough heat to make it stifling indoors. So we turn on the A/C. Then I wake up in the middle of the night uncomfortably chilly. I turn on the heat. The power company must love us.
