Okay, I figured out the issue after doing a bit of research. The c2924c-XL-EN only works on layer 2. This means that I can't really do much in the way of IP routing, so I can't designate ip addresses to interfaces ( Read more... ) -

Its a c2924c-XL-EN switch that seems to be running fine. What sense does that error make? Its running IOS 12.0 -
What?
Message come down from the VP of IT today. The student help desk is no longer allowed to open computers to work on them.
If this sticks, the help desk will be nothing but international students who pile up broken computers in the hopes that they will go away on their own.
Oh well, time to look for a new job again. -

Imaging woes and new Gym Facilities
Back before I started creating the image for my professor's classrooms, he told me that the image had to be generated sector by sector, or Linux won't boot. This means it took 6.5 hours to generate an image, instead of about 40 minutes. However, I spoke with Brian about it, and we agreed to try generating the image without a sector by sector scan. I generated the image using ghost. I took 6.5 hours. I got the "crew" together on Thursday to start imaging the back row. ETA? 8 hours. They'll be ready to join to the domain on Monday. Talk about a pain in the ass. There are 4 rows of machines, each row has 6 computers. We can only image one row per day ( Read more... )
