The old dishwasher that came with my condo started leaking, so I used my Christmas money and bought a new one from Sears. Nothing fancy, but MUCH better than what was in there before. I chatted with old friends, met some new ones, learned to play the "bones" from Alexander  de Seaton (and took home a set, thanks!), and had a fine dinner at C.J.'s. I had some AWESOME teriyaki salmon, and a lovely glass of 2007 Italian pinot grigio that had a fruity bouquet that went well with the salmon. I ate with very good company, ( Read more... )

Just saw this movie yesterday about a Marine's experience of the Gulf War. It was an excellent movie, better than I anticipated, and very eye-openning (in more ways than one, it's rated R, don't let the kiddies watch). The performances were outstanding, and the vision of  burning Kuwaiti oilfields at night were awesome ( Read more... )

Another good Maidens for me. Travel to it was a little foggy, but I've driven through much worse to get to this event. Stayed overnight at the Illini Union, which was very convenient, if expensive. Since I don't make it to too many events, it was worth the price to me.
