One of my favorite achievements done before I go: I ran (and walked) 2.5 miles in 26 minutes. This is a great improvement from my barely being able to run 3/4 of a mile at the beginning of summer.

I depart for China early Tuesday morning, August 22nd, and won't return for a year or so. Or, if I do, I certainly won't have time for the likes of you guys, as I'll be merrily tromping about getting stuff done for graduate school.

Now back to packing.

Does anybody have a good general biology textbook(s) that they'd be willing to loan/sell me? I'm studying for the bio GREs, and all I have is a molecular cell bio textbook, and I need something I can take off to China with me.

Just finished Veronica Mars, season 2.

As I gear up to flee the country, I've been doing my best to catch up on several TV shows and the like. The most recent one has been the new Battlestar Galactica. I was up in Toronto over this weekend for a naginata seminar. I took the bus from DC to NYC, and then my sensei and I drove up to Toronto. With a brief stop at Niagara Falls along the way (meaning they dropped me off, drove in a big circle, and picked me up again). Toronto seems like a great city for young people, though.
