So it's finally 2008! I hope that everyone had a really great break. Did everyone get what they wanted for Christmas? I got the best gift EVER! Uryuu-kun gave me A PUPPY DOG! He's a golden retriever and his name is Mr. Spock (I even ordered a special name tag for him that's shaped like the Star Trek logo!). I'm taking him to the vet after work ( Read more... )

Does house-breaking mean he won't... you know.. do his business or whatever people call it in the house? I really didn't expect him to make such a mess, Inoue. I can take him back and ask the shopkeeper for a trained one if you'd prefer?

Yeah, house-breaking is just training him to use the bathroom outside. Dogs aren't like cats, they're more like children. You have to teach them to do the right things.

You will not take him back! Mr. Spock is perfect, he's just learning! He doesn't know any better right now. And no, I didn't bring him today, I thought that'd be too conspicuous. I have a video on my computer of a puppy, which is probably what you heard.

Do you want to come with me to the vet today while he gets vaccinated?

I would like to see you, but, you have to hold him. He kept wriggling and licking me last time. It was ticklish and a bit gross

Usually it takes a few weeks. Longer with some dogs, but Spock seems like a fast learner, and goldies are smart dogs.

He does! And he falls over when he tries to scratch his ear with his hind foot. Puppy imbalance!

Nah, he can't eat people food 'cause a lot of the things humans eat are bad for doggies. He has special puppy chow!

He doesn't know any tricks yet. He mostly just sleeps and eats. But he will learn a ton of fun things!

That's cool! Puppies are cute, but I don't think I'd be a good owner~ so I just play with dad's.

There are some bakeries that make special cookies and treats for dogs! Maybe I can learn how to make those for him.
