We're having a baby!!!
Hopefully, that is. :) Aziza checked pregnant via sonogram. Knowing how tenuous equine pregnancies can be, I want to have her checked again around day 110, and probably again after that. But I feel like we've cleared a major hurdle just getting her in foal. Many, many people already have their fingers crossed for us, and I am cautiously ( Read more... ) -

Saturday Aziza went to a breeding facility with the hopes that a breeding will take this year. The stallion we chose has up-close Ruminaja Ali and Ansata breeding-- as in, Ali for a grandsire tail-male, Ansata Shah Zaman as his dam line grandsire, and A. WDW proposal surprise!
Got back safely from WDW, spent the next week paying for it, and now I'm slowly crawling back out from under my rock and onto the internet...yay!

Okay, I'm officially jazzed. Claudia has surprised me with a birthday trip to WDW. I've never been to the park twice in such a short period of time, so I'm a little more beside myself than usual when presented with an opportunity to go. And hey, they're letting people in for free on their birthdays this year-- nifty!

Yep, we're back from Disney, which was glorious as always. Highlights include lots of hugs, licks and kisses from Stitch, and meeting a wonderful fellow Stitch-fan named Komiko. Big Brown injured himself again and is now officially retired; he won't run in the BC Classic, and won't go up against Curlin, the only horse he was scheduled to face who might have shown whether BB could really run-- or not. It's unfortunate that this year's three year olds were not particularly outstanding-- with the exceptions of Eight Belles ( Read more... ) -

Driving home today, listening to NPR, I heard a discussion about women's issues that included some mention of daycare. The debate included whether government funding for daycare was appropriate, or whether businesses should receive tax "incentives" to provide or help provide for daycare. And I just have to say-- here's a concept--
