We dropped J off at sleepover summer camp 1 week ago today--his 2-week session is 1/2 done.  I went to a similar camp 9 years in a row, from age 8 to age 17, so I think I understand some of what he will gain:  friendships, shared experiences, cultural and social learning, and generally growing up.  I remember how excited I was to show off the camp ( Read more... )

Best Business Trip to Dallas EVER.

I'm still procrastinating packing for my 2 night trip to Denton, TX.  Fly from SEA to DFW at 7:45 tomorrow.  That's...only...7 1/2 hours away.  That means, leave the house at 5:30, which is only 5 1/4 hours from now.  Which means, less than 5 hours sleep for me.  Again ( Read more... )

After a long plateau of not particularly practicing SCA fighting, I've finally got some resolve back.

There's 2 1/2 weeks to Coronation, so I'm picking up the pace on training:  Jogging harder, drilling on and off the pell, practicing, lifting, and getting my head around performance.
