This is one of those days when 'sleeping' is a synonym for 'restless'.

Sometimes it's just best to let it all slide by...or maybe it's just easiest. Later, we can shift amongst the moments, but for now, let's swallow. For now, let's breathe.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring.

I spent an hour is a poorly lit pizza place this afternoon, crying to my father. I guess it just hurts to confess what we already know and understand. It's hard to admit predictability, and harder to accept inevitability. I wouldn't have cried, but I can't hold back when I am handed the empathy I saw coming.

I've always feared his sympathies.

There's so much to be said for seeing an old friend and walking the same streets (in the cold). There's so much resting in cracked, creaking vinyl seats and menus that haven't been changed in nearly half my lifetime. I know how deep all the potholes were, before they filled them in. My friend's dog died a few weeks ago and tonight she sent me a picture of the litter her puppy is coming from. I can't even explain how gorgeous it all is. So much life bounding forward without thinking - I love it. It's funny how the world's energy balances out like that. So much balances out like that.

I am excited. Jenn's mom talked with Gail last night and this summer's plans are finally taking shape. It looks like we'll have a good three weeks to spend together - completely and purely together.
