Thing I learned today. There is such a thing as a blunt needle. A pointy needle hurts when it hits a nerve root. The blunt needle on the other hand causes no pain when it hits the nerve. In honor of today's Large Hadron Collider launch and the successful non-destruction of the Earth, the Beeb have done a special Torchwood radio episode set at CERN. It's online for 7 days at the Radio 4 Big Bang website. (Try the podcast version - the streamed one seems to have some issues at the moment). -h

The day began well enough with the most irritating person I work with resigning.
The day ended with the doc giving me a prescription for three cortisone epidurals.

I had planned to open the new PC after my exam tomorrow, but when I picked it up at DHL the box was split open. Took it home, set it up, the monster is alive. A simple pleasure, turning on task manager and seeing not 1, not 2, but 4 little processor graphs beating away. And as for the monitor it's big enough to give me a decent tan ( Read more... )

In a moment of "Yay I passed the midterm" madness I finally purchased a new pc and monitor, 24" of widescreen LCD goodness (mmmmmmm, monitors) So I have a 17" gateway triniton type monitor going begging if anyone needs one for use or abuse.
