I told my short stories class today that I didn't like my (gay, whiny, bitchy) protagonist, and I mentioned that I wanted to kill him off at the end of my story (but I didn't - he lived). I'm in Alabama. My grandmother had emergency-ish heart bypass surgery Thursday morning, and I drove through the night Wednesday (8:30pm-3:30am!) so that we could see her before she went under. I just finished my final portfolio for Intro to Writing Poetry, and with the exception of the first poem, I am pretty proud of it.  It's not great, but it's not terrible, and it's pretty substantial for just one semester's work (9 poems is a lot okay? even though I cheated and submitted an old one, which is not really cheating, so whatever).  I can ( Read more... )
