BP's next step:
They're doing the clean cut on the riser pipe with a diamond blade bandsaw right now. It's on the live video feed from the ROVs at this link.
This should give them a clean pipe to connect to. It has the downside that it will increase the rate that oil is going into the gulf. -
More info on what BP plans to do about the oil spill:
