I really want to get into the Korra fandom because I loved being in the Avatar fandom but stuff like this really gets on my nerves. (Though I know it's in every fandom.)

See, this is why I won't enter some fandoms. To me, she sounds pretty awesome. I'll probably really like her as an addition to the already fun cast, but come on! She hasn't even shown up yet! Can people watch the actual show from time to time and not only in "HD ship-o-vision"?

I swear, the Avatar fandom has the most intense and ridiculous shippers on the planet, they're part of the reason why I left the fandom (and later on series). They've only aired, what? Three episodes, and already the ship wars are starting? Mother of mercy....

Pokemon was supposedly even worse back in it's heyday, but I was too young to know what shipping was back then. Interestingly enough, I still did it even if I didn't know what it was. Caspian/Lilliandil (even though she wouldn't be named that for years) 4 LYFE, yo.

Pokemon was my first internet fandom and I will never forget the ship wars. The board I was mostly on stayed out of them usually but now and then... it wasn't pretty.

Oh, the ship wars began the instant the character designs and profiles came out, and the first-generation shipwank ain't over yet ( ROT-13 for spoilers regarding the Welcome to Republic City video game and the Avatarverse circa Legend of Korra in general):

There's legit reasoning to guessing she maybe an equalist. Die for our ship is not one of them. :/

Has anyone pulled this for Mako for getting in the way of Korra/Asumi? I wouldn't be surprised considering this fandom and shipping. :/
