This, uh...
this--th-this isn't the happiest topic. I, just, y'know, I--I-I don't want to ruin anyone's mood so--so...
So--so yeah, heads up.
...Death isn't permanent here? There--th-there's a system that brings us back if something happens to us. But...I-I mean, we have something like death. When--w-when a person leaves, when they're just--j-just

He's not gonna light a candle. Nope. Not him.
....yes, he is, he totally is. He does it with the nature of a man on a top-secret mission, shifty glances back and forth, all around. He lights three candles, and walks away.
He walks back, pulls a little tiny birthday candle in half, sticks it back down on the table, and lights that one, too. That one's for his arm, but he'll NEVER ADMIT IT.]

But don't worry, he won't comment on it. He wouldn't know quite what to say, anyways. It's a pretty personal matter, after all.
Instead, he just approaches the booth.]
Hey. Can--c-can I get you anything?

[There's a pause.]
I know what foods I like, but I don't really know what the actual names are. Other than steak.
[There's also Crispy Thingies, but nobody seems to know what those are. That turtle told him the actual name but he forgot.]

...Ah. It wasn't hard to figure out. He was actually touched to see even on a ship like this, people still had the heart to remember others.
He wandered over to the candles and got two for himself, lit them quietly and lowered his head. Not that he thought a prayer would do any good here, but. He still believed in them. Why not.]

H--hello.
I'm--I'm one of the cooks that works here. Would you like anything to--to eat?

But MOOD CHANGE he likes the idea of food, Rain loves food.]
I would love that! What kind do you have?

But, he raises his chin again when the man speaks.]
Well, just--j-just about everything, sir. You're, uhm, y-you're--you're welcome to come with me into the kitchen an--a-and look for something you like?

Andrew...reminds him of himself in some ways. So he doesn't feel too presumptuous when he returns with a napkin filled with cookies for him. Sweets always make shit like this better?]

S--sorry. I didn't mean to take up so many.

There's more candles where those came from.
[He smiles softly at the other man and sets the cookies down next to him. From the looks of it, he's gone and interrupted Andrew, so there may be more candle lighting to come. If that's the case, he doesn't want to fill his hands.]
Here. I, uh. I-I--I thought you might--might want some.

Fuck lighting candles for those she left back home--Kick-Ass, Marcus... That's just stupid. At least they're still alive, so far as she knows. She doesn't need to light a candle to reassure her of their happiness. But Daddy... her big, strong, loving daddy deserves at least something.
Finally, she glares at the table. The irony of lighting a candle for her father who burned to death is too gruesome. Fuck Herz and his stupid candles. Muttering under her breath, Mindy turns away from the table and starts back out of the restaurant.]

[He was watching her from the kitchen, called to her on a whim. He wouldn't stop her if she really wanted to go.
Just...honestly he was surprised to see her here.
He wondered if she was going to light something for her dad.]

Hi, Herz.
[She sort of wishes she didn't like Herz enough to respond.]

Can, uh...
Can--c-can I...get you something?

Hey, dude. This was a good idea, y'know? Does make y'kinda miss good ol' Kansas, though, huh?
[Despite the sullen atmosphere, Sal is trying to keep his spirits alive as much as possible, along with those of the people around him. Sure, he misses those back home, but he isn't going to lose sleep over them over nine months later. But it is nice to think about them every once and awhile.]

I-I dunno. About, y'know, Kansas. I-I--I mean.
I'm glad you--you like the candles, though.

S'a good idea. Man... s'a lotta lit candles... [He wonders if Mikaela lit any. As many people as she's lost here.]

I--I tell you recently I'm glad you're here?
