I wish Nina Simone covered it, but if she did, I can't find it.
I really enjoy Rufus Wainwright's version.
Glad you're still at the glassblowing! Next time you're in town, stop by and we can chat it up (I'm working on a glass and stone project I'm welcoming any advice on - I think I have to heat the stone more... ).
Oh wow would Nina Simone ever have done a fantastic job with this song.
I personally don't like the Rufus Wainwright version. He can't stop twanging and country music has never really been my thing.
I like KD Lang because she can do the song plainly, like an old hymn. No twanging, no syncopation to make it sound Motown, just straight up.
I'd love to see your glass & stone project. It sounds fantastic. I'm still up in the Metro area regularly since I work here and have family here. Besides, I really do want to see your studio set up. I would dearly love to have a home glass studio someday.....
More after my grant writing class and my current plumbing woes are out of my hair?

Yeah, last I heard from Jaci was "taking it slow... not sure about kids... wedding first..." so I'm trying to not call him daily, tap my watch, and say "WELL?????"
I don't remember if I recommended it when you spoke of G liking the Sherlock Holmes stories, but he'll probably like this It is not, despite the title, a pastiche, but a book set in the same world as the Holmes stories.
*hugs* Glad to see a post from you to start out the New Year!
