Last night was the greatest game of basketball I have ever seen and it wasn't even college ball. CHS played a small private school from Indiana. The coach was a former Mr. Basketball for Indiana and went on to coach at IU according to our secretary. This has been one of the longest and most emotional weeks of my life. It was parent-teacher conferences and within 20 hours I went from feeling ok about teaching, to being verbally assaulted by a parent, to crying in the principal's office, to having 3 apologies in under 10 minutes. Last year, Halloween was my worst day of subbing. Worst than when a student downloaded a picture of a dead iraqi soldier. And today was my worst day of teaching today. My grandmother died today. It seems so weird to say, or type, but after a couple years with Parkinson's and finally Alzheimer's, she is gone.

On to creating fun 75 minute filling lesson plans. Great my kiddies first day with a sub.

Had a bad day on Friday. Pretty much can be summed up with improper planning. Plus there are certain things you don't do to a first year teacher while she is managing chaos you created ( Read more... )
