So...for those of you who don't know, I teach art using centers. My room is set up in mini studios, with all (well, most) of the supplies accessible to the kids all the time. I had one of the best weekends that I've had in a loooong time. Friday was pretty low-key. We just watched TV and went grocery shopping. Saturday, though, was awesome. Apparently, September is Ovarian Cancer awareness month. I had no idea. I got an email today saying that the breast cancer site was having trouble getting enough hits to donate the number of free mammograms that they wanted. I had to put Mitzi down this morning. I knew it was probably going to have to be done in the next month or so...but I didn't expect it to be today. She was 15 and a half. Today was the first day since Friday that I woke up without a fever over 100. Hooray! I don't feel wonderful, but I feel so much better than I have been feeling that I'm even considering going up to school to work in my classroom for a while.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, though.

Oy. I was at the dentist this afternoon, getting 2 small cavities filled (and I mean SMALL - the whole thing only took about 20 minutes, including the time allowed to let the numbing shots go into effect.) I totally love that I slept in kinda late yesterday, spent ALL DAY reading HP7, went to bed at 4:30am, slept in even later today, ran errands and then got to finish the book. I just finished watching Who the #$&% Is Jackson Pollock? - and it's fascinating. It's amazing to me that the "art world" is so...I don't know...political? Opinionated?
