Is anyone else allergic to their hedgehogs?

I have been allergic since I got Dinsdale about four years ago and it's gotten progressively worse. Where he sits on me, his quills leave welts and I have to break out the inhaler to help my breathing. I also end up taking about 3 benadryl when I play with him. I'm not about to rehome him.
