At 3:57 this morning, the most influential woman in my life passed away. Floy Louise McDonald Neithercutt was an amazing woman. She was strong and loving and kind hearted.

I'll miss her so much more than words can say.

Here I am in the family room at the hospice. Gran's feet and hands are turning blue, but she's still fighting. She's not responding to any of us any longer. She's barely opened her eyes for 2 days now. At least yesterday when they would come in and turn her, she would react. Today...nothing ( Read more... )

This morning they had a very hard time detecting Gran's vital signs. They just couldn't get her blood pressure to register. So we've been up here since 8:30. She's opening her eyes much more than yesterday and I got her to squeeze my hand about an hour ago ( Read more... )

It's a little before midnight on Thursday. I talked to Mom a couple of hours ago. She said that they've lowered Gran's oxygen level because it was too high and it was aggitating her. She's breathing on her own, but she's had no food or water since Wednesday when they removed her IV ( Read more... )

Mom and Ron got to Midland really late last night. They went straight to the hospital to see Gran. Her IV is going to be removed soon...at least that is what the idea was as of last night. What have I learned in the last day or two? You shouldn't try to pet injured critters. They just bite you no matter how good your intentions may be.
