Phallus impudicus is the latin name for this particular fungus. i suppose it was named that way because it is sort of phallic shaped, but i certainly didn't think of it when i saw the bloom!
ans i never said you were dishonest, i just said "honestly!"

ask Ginny where she ordered it, it's a very intersting fungus, it starts out as an egg shape and then in one morning blooms into the odd shape you see in the picture! they aren't rare or anything, just interesting.

I think you need a girl plant to be friends with your boy plant.

oh dear, i really don't think i need any other strange-looking plants, i seem to have attracted more attention than i ever wanted just with this stinkhorn!
but you know me, i'd never turn down a gift of a smashing cool plant! i'd think i would be rather frightened to see what people came up with for a "girl plant" though....

That is disturbing.

herbology_dork July 29 2004, 23:38:42 UTC
why would it disturb you?

Isn't it obvious? Fungi should not look like that.

well, i didn't make it look like that, it just grew that way. i didn't even pick it out, you can talk to ginny about that. i am beginning to wish i had never posted this picture!

Thrilling. Miss Weasley must be attempting to help you come to grips with yourself.

No wonder you're so nervous all the time.

It's all right, Longbottom. Nobody cares. Nobody minds.

what exactly are you insinuating? maybe Ginny just knows i am interested in odd plants, regardless of their particular shape or smell.

i am NOT nervous all the time! well, not anymore anyway!

why would you care to trouble me, i've never done anything to you! i've never snuck about the castle after curfew or thrown dungbombs or teased mrs. Norris. why do people always feel the need to pick on me?

I'm not bloody picking on you, Longbottom. I am assuring you that nobody minds.

For god's sake, keep up the good behaviour.
