Kira had spent most of her break doing the typical holiday business of stuffing her face and sitting around watching TV, so she was almost glad to be back in Fandom and getting back to her routine - as much as "run through the preserve as fast as she could for as long as she could" was a routine. When she saw she wasn't alone, she skidded to a stop and caught her breath. "Hi," she said brightly. "Enjoying the creepy scenery?"
Hanna peered around the statue and smiled, happy to see someone else. "I have never seen angels like these before," she confided. "They look as if they are about to destroy someone. Or smite them."
They really did. Rarrrrrrr!
"The forest is wonderful. But strange. Is there magic here?"
"Yesterday morning, yes." She slid down the side of one of the angels, then stood up, adjusting her new jacket. "I am Hanna. I am a -- sophomore?" The German accent always had an up-tick when she was uncertain. "I did not expect there to be real magic. Anywhere."
