What does it mean if you dream you're cleaning your ear with a Q-tip, and when you pull out the Q-tip there's a bean-sized black lump on it that falls onto the counter and then shakes, jiggles, and slowly opens up and becomes this sponge-like, squishy, kinda anemone-like looking thing that's about the size of a balled fist?

Heading to Momland to take care of her this weekend.  Apparently I'm going to be "tested" to make sure I can adequately care for her.  My sister has already passed the test (since she's been the one doing it 75% of the time).  I wonder if I can sneak in a cheat sheet.

Mom's double bypass surgery was Friday and went great.  They didn't have to use a vessel from her leg (which means she doesn't have to heal her chest AND leg...sweeeet).  She's being discharged from the hospital *right ( Read more... )

Found out Sunday that Mom was scheduled to have stents placed in an artery Tuesday.  The procedure failed, so Mom's been scheduled for a double bypass to take place next Friday, October 3.  I'm heading down tonight after work to spend the weekend with her, will be there for the surgery, and then will be down there ( Read more... )

Schools are still closed here due to wide spread power outage so the kids are still home - except for Kevin, whose school has power, so he went today.  They're starting to build behind my house, and there are a bunch of dirt mounds.  And rocks.  Fun-o-rama!  Behold their latest rock wall (the first one was knocked down by some dirtbag kids.  Grr)

We had a wind storm yesterday.  No wait, we had a friggin' huge-ass wind storm.  I was told yesterday that the winds by us (about 10 miles north of Louisville) neared 80 mph, but the WHAS 11 news website says it only reached 75 mph.  Tons of trees down, damaged homes and businesses, power outages that Louisville's Mayor said could last 10-14 days, ( Read more... )
