Congratulations Petronas Scholar! I heard Jin tried to survive on US$15 a day when he was in the States earlier. And he recently bragged that he got a pair of kickass pants for U$19. So it's possible to live well with less.

Owh n thank you as well for the inspiration... my parents used to pampered me so now it's maybe the time to start managing my own finance... need to grow up sooner or later, ne? ^^ Haha I'll definitely be enjoying the warmth in Malaysia (since we're NOT a 4 seasons country) before heading to Aussie.. Owh btw, if it is possible to ask of u.. Do student in Aussie have to take Australian Matriculation as well before entering universities? Or is it optional? ^_^

how's petronas scholar.i'm in dilemma right now.it's just an interview but i have to chooose either one.mara or petronas.which one should i go u think?:(

Hi, Hairul Hazwan. As far as I knew u can only choose one between JPA and MARA, but there is no problem in attending interviews for other scholarships. Is it the new rule this year, coz I haven't heard of it. Personally I myself went to both MARA and Pet interview, and I managed to get offers from both scholarship. Pet's inteviews and test structures are as I mentioned, and when I went for MARA the interviewers asked us to build a bridge using spaghetti, some threads and cans of sardines as payloads, and they only asked us 1 question n that was it. I don't know whether both scholarship already change their interviewing structure or not, it may not be as I've written. Just go for the one u're most confident in. God knows best. If you're confident in both, then look at the pros n cons in both scholarship. Haha Pet pun ada cons dia gak, I won't be bias on that just bcoz I chose Pet over MARA. May I know what course u're planning to take?

Hello, I'm currently waiting for the interview results. It was supposed to be today though :/ urm, may I know, how did petronas informed you about the release date? Did you see it on the website or petronas msged you? I'm so worried and the website is still the same-without any current or useful information. It's the weekend and the helpdesk is closed O.O I'm soooo confused >< please help me. :( thank you :') btw, goodluck with your studies! :D

Salam, Fahima. By afternoon, the result shoud be up in the website. You can check by logging in. Regardless of that, Petronas will call u either on that same day or the day after to inform that u get it. The scholarship officer called me at 3pm on the day of the result (and I haven't check it online yet) while some of my friends received the call the day after. :) Good luck!

hai i also obtained the pet scholarship recently and i was attracted to this that u stated :

'Pet always hold gathering among scholars so u can get to know, n eventually WILL bcome close with fellow Pet scholars from INTEC, Taylor's, KDU, KTJ, Sunway, etc..'

really ? what kind of gathering and what of purpose ?

lol. i spend more time on cutting words than typing them out.

So far I'm very proud jadi Pet scholars. well, the only cons is org slalu suro belanja makan sbb allowance lebih. haha. That aside, all is good. Pasal scholarship so far x de prob. If unclear pasal apa2, kasi emel je Pet mmg cepat reply. STS officer pun sgt rapat dgn student and friendly and nice sangat2, boleh je hri tu lepak sejam lebih borak2 one-to-one. And Pet sgt efficient la. Mcm result uni mana ktorg dapat, tarikh bile fly, ktorg tau mcm 1 month awal before our MARA friends. Well maybe bcoz jumlah scholar Pet yg dia kena handle lagi sikit, so tu yg senang nk uruskan satu2 tu. Every 6 months STS officer dtg ke each prep college utk buat engagement session, monitor result, tanya masalah sume.

I could go on about this forever. But yeah so far so good. ;D

assalamualaikum and hye...

I got the Pet scholar to Canada for Petroleum Engineering... my prep college is Taylors Subang Jaya.. I'm taking International Canadian Pre University (ICPU).. so my worries are..

1. What is ICPU actually? What do their students study? How long the period of preparation? I had opened the Taylors website to check about it but I'm still didn't understand...
2. I also got the offer from Mara for the same course in UNSW Australia.. I rejected that offer because I prefer Petronas better.. so is it worth it to be sponsored by Petronas?
3. How much is the allowance per month provided when we studies oversea?

I'm really excited about Petronas scholarship and I hope u can answer some of my questions.. I'm just curious to know more.. thank you

I'm just curious.. there are rumours said that said Petronas may not employ u after grad.. in that case.. we hav to pay back 20%.. is it true?? n u hav said previously in other comment that in Taylor they don't include the books in their fee.. it means that we hav to buy the books by ourself so how much is the books.. when we will get the books allowance n computer allowance? I'm scared that I will be unemploy.. hope u can give some advice to convince me again about this Petronas scholarship..

Oh, hello there! I'm also a pet scholar who's going to canada *in shaa Allah* but i'll be doing my prep in sunway. I've read another blog about cpu. It's Muhammad Asyraaf's blog i think. I feel that would help. N don't worry, petronas usually if u excel in the interview after u've graduated, again, in shaa Allah. U'll have a job :)) n btw, i think petronas have already allocated 800 for our books fee. I think if u read that blog, u'll have a clearer view of what will happen. All the best :)) oh, n do u know, how many pet scholars who's going to canada in taylors?
