Hump Day
Today was a couch day. I awoke very tired and spent the day doing very little. I have come to value those days when I do so little, having been a big achiever most of my adult life.
I saw the surgeon for my 6-week post op check on Monday. She answered all my questions, gave her blessing for me to work with a physical therapist, and released all ( Read more... ) -

Saturday
Well, I actually slept last night. Yesterday I felt like a zombie because I had gotten maybe 2-3 broken hours of sleep in the previous 48 hours. The geniuses that developed the colonoscopy prep had me take the goop at 8:00 p.m. the night before the procedure. No sleep that night.

Birthday Ramblings
We make a big deal of birthdays in my family. That was something that I initiated with my daughter, not something that arose from my family of origin.
We love it all: the special foods, the decadent deserts, the presents, and celebrating for several days. We call it the Birthday Season.

I surprised myself greatly by sleeping 12 hours last night. I awakened at 8 a.m. because a friend texted me. I dragged myself out of bed, fed the critters, and went back to bed for 2 more hours. It was great. I just do not get enough sleep ( Read more... )
