You can spend hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've, should've happened...or you can leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on.

I ended up saying no, but it certainly gave me pause. And, you know, maybe if my lifestyle wasn’t so transient at the moment, maybe if I had a partner, maybe a lot of things. Yeah, I sat there in the snow. It fell with a needle of tranquility, it was cold and it was beautiful. Yeah, I ran my fingers through my hair, ran them through my hair repeatedly. I was thinking. And I'm still thinking, but I'll get there.

She talked to me just like she used to. Same palpable old lady smell, same endearingly unabashed attitude. Almost mean, but a measure of mean that’s just the way I like it.
