It really is nice being back home with the dogs. -
Wildlife
My hotel here in New Jersey, like so much of this state, is surrounded by green. This afternoon, as we returned to the room, we saw a deer and two beavers at the treeline. I think deer are much more attractive when viewed from the room than then are from a car going 55. -
A quick foodie note for Philadelphia
We hit Sampan the other night for tapas style asian fusion, and I'd certainly do it again. Little plates to share, good pacing, great flavors, yummy sake. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of food all over the US. -
Double down
I'd like to double down on my previous statement - the options here at the airport are terrible. Yes, it's good for my morning flight, but I already miss being able to have a nice dinner in Paris. -
Phase 1 wrapping up
The first half of this trip is almost over, with just two more meetings before I head to the airport tonight for the flight tomorrow to Philly.
In retrospect I should have stayed one more night in central Paris... the options to celebrate my birthday are much better here than at CDG. -
Google Street View Car
It's not like I drive a ton (not having a commute), but I'm surprised that I haven't seen a Google mapping car until today. -

Oh, but
Yeah, there's good food almost everywhere. But Oconomowoc, Wisconsin hasn't managed to find cuisine yet. It was better than the food we found in Oshkosh a few years ago, and at least we didn't have to fall back on Chili's or Applebee's. -
Good eats in Cincinnati!
I continue to be impressed with the quality of food throughout the country these days. We had a nice little vegetarian menu at what is generally considered the top restaurant in Cincinnati on Tuesday, Orchids (at the Hilton). The food was quite nice, but sort of safe, and the service was spotty ( Read more... )
