Work Christmas party last night.

I drank until I was sick, and then drank some more ... which, in hindsight, was rather foolish.

Funnily enough, I didn't make it into work today. In fact, I barely made it out of bed. Going to crawl back there now.

Nan's funeral was yesterday. She had a pretty good send off. My aunt had put together a collection of photographs of my grandparents, going right back to when they were about 19, which was really cool. I wish I'd seen half of those photos whilst my grandparents were still alive, so we could've talked about them. She'll be missed ( Read more... )

I have a new shiny: a fancy little laptop. Been thinking about buying one for ages, and not having one at the meeting in London was a pain in the arse. So, there you go.

Now to linuxify it ... could be tricky, as it seems to have various bits of recent harware that may not be well supported.

Dammit. Just wrote a fairly lengthy post, clicked submit and Firefox crashed. It's crashed three or four times, today; never had it crash on me before.

No time to repost the whole thing ... I have to go and cook roast spuds, Yorkshire pudding and sausagemeat stuffing.

They're letting me play with a dual core Xeon with 3.5 Gb RAM (on which I'm writing this ... but it's doing hard maths at the same time).

Shiny. Want.
